Bespoken design of a floral pattern for a Chinese Medicine pharmacist in Taiwan. The briefing asked for a pattern with herbs and plants used in Chinese Medicine. The design displays the herbs in two ways: as plants and as powder medicine, in the yellow packets. The pattern was screen-printed on cotton and steamed, washed and cooked in our print studio in New Taipei. The overall design follows the style of 19th century British pattern designs, such as William Morris and C.F.A.Voysey.. The client will use the pattern as a panel in his drugstore, whose current interior design informed the choice of colors. Photos of the client's panel will be uploaded in due time.
